Texas Path to NIEM Project
Earlier this year DPS in partnership with DCJ, OCA and in collaboration with TIJIS posted the Texas Path to NIEM RFP. The procurement process was recently completed and the contract was awarded to UNISYS. The Texas Path to NIEM is a very critical information sharing project, enabling jurisdictions to effectively share, exchange, accept and translate information using the National Information Model (NIEM) standards.
What is NIEM?
The National Information Exchange Model (NIEM), a partnership of the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is designed to develop, disseminate and support enterprise-wide information exchange standards and processes that can enable jurisdictions to effectively share critical data.
